App and website

Website and app: the main product showcases and the most frequent point of contact with the brand

It looks like a regular app, …

Dodo Pizza is first and foremost a digital franchise, and our website and app serve as our main product showcase and the most frequent point of contact with the brand. We put a lot of effort into them!

At first glance, our app does the same thing as any other delivery app. There’s a menu with photos and prices, you can add and remove ingredients, track your order status, rate your meal, and leave reviews.

… but no

We’ve gone above and beyond with every detail:
  • not just delivery to your door, but also table service and a super convenient pickup option — you can walk by the pizzeria, order a little in advance, and pick up your order in literally a minute; this is incredibly appreciated by parents with kids and strollers;
  • not just a menu with photos, but one that’s user-friendly, informative, and completely honest — we only photograph real ingredients, don’t retouch anything in Photoshop, and show things exactly as they are;
  • not just ingredient customization, but also a combo builder and large pizzas made from two halves;
  • not just prices, but a full-fledged loyalty program with cashback and missions, as well as personalized offers and plenty of promo codes. People hate loyalty programs for being intrusive and irrelevant, but they love ours for its relevance and tangible benefits;
  • not just order status, but also webcams showing how the order is being prepared in the kitchen;
  • not just a review, but the opportunity to provide detailed feedback on every aspect of the order and thereby influence our processes and recipes.

Sometimes we build apps within apps. For example, we have stories — a whole world of content with its own atmosphere. All in all, it’s a really great app.

The whole world is just one icon

Many of our competitors have region-specific mobile apps. To order a pizza in another country, you have to download a new version from the local App Store or Google Play. We’ve made our app universal — it will work in any country around the world where the Dodo brand is present. And that also means that as soon as we roll out a dark theme, split billing, or courier tracking on the map — it will appear for everyone right away.

The best website for new customers

The website’s mission is to introduce people to the Dodo brand, give them the chance to try our product, and then turn new customers into loyal ones while encouraging them to download the app. But that doesn’t mean the website is in any way inferior to the app; it’s just that browsing the site on a phone isn’t as convenient, even though it offers all the same features.

The app and website account for half of the revenue

Back in April 2018, our mobile app surpassed the restaurant in terms of revenue. Today, it accounts for 40% of the chain’s total sales — and 65% of delivery revenue. To date, it has been downloaded more than 4 million times, with 2 million of those downloads occurring in the past year.

Modern, fast, and functional digital products for customers are an important part of our Dodo IS information system. This is one of the franchise’s key competitive advantages.
